What is Harmony?

Besides the song I used to sing along to—the one Elton John so beautifully carried with his voice—I’ve always envisioned harmony as a place.

Not just a destination, but a state of mind

A gentle resting place within,

where the noise quiets,

where your breath breathes in peace,

and you begin to become that peace.

Harmony isn’t just music, though it sings.

It isn’t just stillness, though it soothes.

It’s the feeling of being aligned with your own soul.

The kind of moment where your breath syncs with the rhythm of the world, a simple world

and suddenly—even if only for a heartbeat—everything feels whole.

Can harmony be how we make our day?

Maybe it’s found in the small, unnoticed rituals

like standing beneath a sunlit window,

the warmth on your face reminding you

that life, in this exact moment, is good.

Harmony isn’t always loud or lasting.

Sometimes, it whispers.

It shows up in a single deep breath,

the hush after a prayer,

or the way morning breeze feels across your skin.

And if you’ve ever encountered harmony,

even for a fleeting moment,

you know its presence stays.

Like a sacred imprint,

it lingers near the soul—

a soft reminder of what it feels like to be fully you.

So when you find it—

in laughter, in silence, in sunlight—

capture its bliss.

Hold it close.

For that is the truest being of harmony:

a moment that remains,

long after the moment has passed.
