How Can I Describe Weightless?
How can I describe weightless
when I have only ever known weight?
If I could imagine it,
even for a moment,
I would first describe the heart.
It would feel airborne—
as if, without effort,
the heart’s only purpose in the body
was gentle guidance.
I imagine it with wings.
There would be no heaviness.
Only assurance.
As soft as direction itself,
almost as light as a feather
unseen by my eyes,
yet followed instinctively by my heart.
That feather would sway just ahead of me—
quiet, steady, certain—
and without asking how,
my heart would trust its lightness.
