Blessings and Luck: Whats the difference?
Some call it luck when life surprises,
When the wind shifts and fortune dances
Into your open hand.
Luck is the wildflower, unplanted,
Sprouting where no one expected beauty to grow.
It is the flicker, the fleeting, the sudden smile
That wasn’t promised, yet appeared.
But blessings—
Ah, blessings are not so hurried.
They do not tumble into your lap unannounced.
Blessings are woven with threads of the eternal,
Hand-stitched by God’s whisper, That knew your name before you were born.
Blessings, however, are not scattered by accident. They are bestowed, often in quiet, sacred ways. A blessing is a spiritual gift — sometimes disguised as a lesson, sometimes as an outright miracle. It’s less about chance, and more about divine orchestration.
When you are blessed, it’s as if Heaven itself pauses and says, “This is for you.”
Blessings can be requested through prayer, but more often they arrive as responses to faith, perseverance, and grace. They don’t always look like fortune — sometimes they are found in the midst of hardship, wrapped in patience and trust.
A blessing chooses you, often when your heart is ready to receive it.
Luck is a coin tossed into the air,
Spinning with a two possible faces.
Blessings are the breath beneath the coin,
The quiet force that lifts it
And teaches it how to land.
Luck is the leaf carried by the breeze — it floats without knowing where it will land. It is the unexpected moment when things align without forewarning: a found coin, or a Four leaf clover.
Luck is beautiful in its randomness. It carries with it the thrill of surprise. In Irish tradition, luck is often seen as a playful trickster, like the leprechaun hiding his pot of gold. You stumble upon it, but it can never be possessed.
Luck finds you when you least expect it. It’s fleeting, yet magical.
Luck is lovely,
But it is a visitor,
A fleeting guest at your table.
Blessings move in.
They sit with you through seasons,
Sometimes silent, sometimes singing,
But always faithful.
Luck excites the moment.
Blessings shape the soul.
One is found by chance,
The other is entrusted by grace.
And sometimes,
When Heaven is feeling playful,
A blessing will come disguised as luck—
A “chance”, a sudden turn,
But your heart will know the difference.
Luck will make you smile.
Blessings will make you weep with gratitude.
