THE ECHO

I did not seek it,

yet it found me

in the quiet places

where whispers

had long been silenced.

A stranger,

a voice

that felt like a melody—

one I had forgotten,

a song from another life,

another time.

Eyes

in which I caught

a glimpse of myself.

I cannot reach

the echo

that stirs my soul awake.

Only a echo,

a whisper,

an ache,

a love

I hold.
